I started focusing on portraits early 2018. This process has been really exciting for me and it’s the reason I switched over from acrylics to oil paints. My process starts with an acrylic wash for the underpainting then building up with oils. If you are looking for a custom portrait send me an email through the contact form
‘Henry’ oil on wood tondo 24” in diametre 2019
In this series I’m revisiting the esthetic of the bungalows that I started doing in 2008 with my Colony series.
I’m interested in the exploration of simple architecture and the circle shape called Tondo. For me it references the elements and concept of community. Continuity and the notion of the rings of time are represented with the use of the tondos. Some of these homes were the original structures built in various neighbourhoods throughout the city. They reflect nostalgic qualities and document a period of our cities history.

My Urban Landscapes are inspired by a continuation of the solitary bungalow. I became aware of the extended spaces outside the where we live and our relationship to them. Recently i did a show titled, Affected City Series where many of these works were displayed.

I have been interested in landscape since my BFA program in 2004. My landscapes have been inspired by anywhere from my current surroundings, to travel and depicting environmental and social themes. Many of the commission work I do is based on a landscape personal to the commissioner.
I did this mural with BUMP (Beltline Urban Mural Project) this summer. Its location is at Barber Culture 1520 6 St. SW The title of it is: Look Within. I decided to portray a reimagined version of the interior space of the barber shop on the outside wall of their building.
